The exact time of construction of the building is unknown, but it is believed that the building was built at the end of the 19th century. In 1937, Aleksandrs Klinklāvs, on the order of Ādolfs Klīves (Chairman of the Board of the Bank of Latvia from 1931 – until the loss of Latvian sovereignty in 1940), developed a building reconstruction project. The house was rebuilt and politicians and cultural workers of that time often visited this house.
